Monday - Day 4

Well, I can't believe that we only have one more day of class. Please share how the format the class has been for you? Has there been the right amount of instruction and time to work on your project? Do you feel you have had enough time to develop your project. How did the Wed-Th-Fri-Mon-Tue format work for you? Would you suggest keeping this type of schedule? Any other comments.... Thanks - Joanne and Lisa

  1. Everything worked fine for me, but I think I prefer the M-F format. This disrupts two weeks and I have kids so they are always doing something on the M-F schedule.
The pace is good...please don't make it any faster or more packed. This absorption takes time and practice.

  2. This class has worked really well for me. I like how you "guided" us the first day and then we were put into groups to do the web 2.0 presentations. Having all the work time has been fantastic. I also really like how you have been offering the little "workshops" (SMART board, wiki, I touch, etc. It has been great to choose the workshops I wanted to go to, and stay back in the room and work independently when a workshop didn't pertain to me. The weekend break was nice, and I felt ready to come back today and finish up!

  3. The format was great..plenty of time to work on whatever..thinking of ways to incorporate more technology..
and wade through the content{self-contained} as well. So much more to do with no more time..I liked the WDF/MT format to break up the week. I'm realizing how far behind I am with basic computer skills..ugh,,

  4. I agree...it's been terrific having both full class instruction/sharing and project time...with the optional workshops. The Wed-Tues format worked better than I expected. I really needed the weekend to digest and take care of things at home. Hmm....enough time to finish the project? Is there ever enough time? Will it ever be finished? I don't think so!

  5. I think that the format worked well because it gave me some time to reflect on what I had done so far. I think that offering mini-workshops was beneficial because people could learn at their own pace. What I appreciated the most was the time to work on my project with support from my colleagues.

  6. I liked the format. My wife even commented on what a good idea a break in the middle is. I thought there was a great balance between learning new things and working on project pieces.

I enjoyed watching the variety of projects today. It's always neat to see how people want to use the tools we're learning. Today was another productive day for me. Each session I have a few more pieces to work into the year's instruction.

  8. I personally loved the format, having the weekend in between was a nice and much needed break to digest all the information. I felt that the mini sessions to learn about the smartboard, photostory, audacity etc. were extremely helpful. This way I could pick and choose what was directly helpful to me and my class instruction. I thought there was plenty of time given to work on the project in class which I liked, that way if I had questions, concerns, or problems Joanne or Lisa was right there to provide assistance. I still feel very overwhelmed and at a disadvantage listening to what technology other teachers have access to in their district. I would like to integrate technology more but feel discourage with what we have access to at my school. Hopefully this will change in the future :)

  9. I liked the format. Breaking it up makes it more manageable and gave some downtime over the weekend. The amount of instruction and project time is great, but I wish I spent a little more time to apply or explore more of the tools that have been presented or shared before starting on my assignments and project.

  10. I liked the Wed-Tues format. The weekend break was perfect before resuming the last two days of the course and gave me time to internalize so much of this new information, practice at home, and reflect. The pacing has been good and it's been a nice balance of material being presented, guided learning, working in small groups, choice tutorials, and I so appreciate the time that's been given for us to work on our projects. Today, I even received guidance on down loading photos, creating files for them, and can be independent with this when I get back to school. I know this is just the tip of the iceberg and there's so much more for me to learn but it's a start!

  11. I liked the W -T schedule and the class format. I'm thankful that we had time to actually explore, practice and play with some of the tools. I really did enjoy the presentations today. It's always so affirming to see the enthusiasm that we all have about our own new learning and the excitement that we (hopefully) will be able to pass on to our student across all grade levels.

  13. I also appreciated the W-T format. The weekend to digest, get outside, move and ponder was crucial. For me, the class structure was the perfect combination of instruction and practice. I also liked choosing from smaller workshops. And all of my individual work time was so productive because of Joanne and Lisa and peer support. In this time i truly feel I've come away with a few tools I am confident in using. I created a Porta-Portal, finally organizing the information I've garnered over the years, to share with my students. I intend to also show them how this 2.0 tool, an example of the MANY available, has help me in my profession. If we hadn't had the time to really work on projects and discover new tools, I wouldn't be returning to the new school year ready to try them.

  14. I've really enjoyed both the format and the design of the course. I liked having the weekend off to work some on my project at my pace. I also have liked the way Lisa and Joanne have run "workshops" that we can opt into about specific tools. I enjoyed being able to work on the Web 2.0 tools the first day, present the second and then have a lot of time to work over the rest of the course.

  15. I liked the format of the class. It gave Jen, Mike and I a lot of time to discuss netbooks and Edu2.0. I also liked the opportunity to attend various workshops, without the pressure of having to attend. I like the W/TH/F/M/T format. It gave me time over the weekend to complete assignments and work on my project without having to go to class. This also allowed me to recharge and have more energy for the last two classes. Thanks for a great class!

  16. I really like having the course include a weekend. The break gave me time to think about new information and also to recharge a bit. I've taken both level 1 and level 2 now and have found the time extremely valuable. Now I'll have to figure out what to do next year for a technology course.
